Our Safety Patrol students are a group of dedicated children who brave the rain and cold to keep their fellow classmates safe. The Cynthia Heights Safety Patrol Program was established in the Spring of 1995.
The bus coordinator saw the need for some improvement in traffic management and contacted Ron Pike to come assess the situation. Safety Patrol at Cynthia Heights was born, a necessity of bad traffic management.
Safety Patrol in Evansville has been in existence for over 80 years. There are roughly 40 different units throughout the county.
Throughout the year, the Evansville Police Department evaluates all Safety Patrol units. They are scored and ranked accordingly. At the County wide Safety Patrol Picnic at the end of school, trophies are awarded to the best of the best units. Cynthia Heights has bee fortunate enough to win this award twice.
